I remember Canadian comedienne Elvira
Kurt's monologue about how we're so
sanitizing childhood that children aren't learning how to be children.
Well, lately there's been a ground swell on the topic that what we're really
banning is boyhood. Girls can be girls, but boys
can't be boys. Maybe everyone
should read the Dangerous
Book for Boys. I know I want to.

Lois Maxwell, who played Moneypenny in many of the James Bond movies, has
died.
Remember Black & White TV?
You know all those ancient sculptures, David et al, in their shiny white
marble? Well ancients preferred color, too. The statues
were painted as lifelike
as possible, it's just that the paints they used faded.
